Pioneer Pass Campground

There is a gem of a campground in the pines, and you won't have the traffic you would in Payson or on the rim.

Pioneer Pass Campground is south of Globe in the pines, at an elevation of 5,900 feet.   The road rises from the high desert of Globe on a narrow mountain road.  The campground has plentiful firewood, picnic table, vault toilets, but no water.  It is a great campground for the scouts to explore at.  There are nearby hikes to Pinal Peak.

Our troop did the wilderness survival merit badge and there was plenty of material to build the shelters.
